We ended up getting a real tree this year! It's a really pretty Fraser Fir that is nicely shaped. :) I'm so glad we ended up with a real one. It smells good, looks good and is so much nicer than the old one we had.
We managed to get the lights on it this weekend after a million other errands and chores. The ornaments had to wait until Tuesday though. I managed to throw the ornaments on the tree in between my younger group of daycare kids going home and the older ones getting off of the bus. I saved all of the kids' ornaments for them to put on last night. They had a blast, but boy did the bottom of the tree look scary! ;) It was a little lopsided and very cramped. I had them rearrange a few so that the poor branches could have some relief.
Now I just need to work on getting a picture of all of the kids to put on some Christmas cards. Any bets on how many pics I'll have to take to get ONE good one? Each year the number rises. Last year I had some pretty hilarious pictures. Our youngest had just learned to say 'crap' and thought it was hilarious. So, in the middle of pictures he starts saying it over and over again. Crap, Crap, Crap, CRAP! he would yell. It was funny, but boy were those pics getting silly. The older two couldn't contain themselves and they were laughing so hard. Eventually we managed to get a good shot. Hopefully this year we'll capture the right one as well. It's always interesting, that's for sure. How easy it was to get a picture of 1 smiling child. I feel like it's an Olympic event trying to get the perfect pic with all 3 of them smiling AND looking at the camera without doing something goofy or getting upset. By the time we're done I'm sweating, my blood pressure is up and the kids are all begging for the candy that I promised them if they'd just smile! Yes, I'm bad. I believe in bribery to the full extent, especially while trying to capture lifelong memories that will be shared with others. lol.... The things we do.
Hope that you're all enjoying gearing up for the holidays!

Haha! So true!! One child was a snap, two was a little bit of a challenge...three...good luck! I definatley have that problem. Our card this year was so windy, I had to put my hair back, Max is scowling, William is a little squinty but Jack and Daddy are just perfect. Go figure. Oh and in our house we don't call those bribes, those are simply incentives! ;)
Even though we talked about the crazy ratio before, I'm still giggling reading your entry. ;-) Whatever picture you end up with will be totally sweet and represent one moment in time for your kiddos (or, one of 75 moments in time, but still!). Smooches!
Did you get that perfect pic yet? I agree how hard it is! Lilly is always making a funny face and with Mikayla, we're just happy if she's looking at the camera and not crying! Alayna, on the other hand, is the perfect little model...
LOL... never did get a good enough picture for Christmas, hence the year-end photo collage I mailed out in it's stead. :p
Hope you guys had a lovely Christmas!
